NHB Fighters’ Tips: Training Alone
Striking: Bag work
|
Double end bag training is very cool for hand eye coordination and putting together varying combinations like: Jab, cross, Hook. I use over and under bungee bag to practice flowing my mechanics with different timings. It improves my: head movement, covering and punching with my hands, all while simultaneously slipping and striking on a moving target. This bag is relatively quiet and is a slick way to improve your overall mobility, stability and neutrality. This is my favorite bag and I train on it constantly! |

Heavy bag training can really boost your muscle endurance and cardio conditioning. I use my imagination to maneuver or, (dance) with the bag. This keeps me light on my feet so I am a better positional fighter. I pivot and slide around the swinging bag 360 degrees. Heavy contact is the key to getting a workout from the bag while you dance with it. Squaring your punches should enable you to consistently make solid contact with the bag and make them sound like gunshots! | |
