To develop an understanding of yourself you must train your own fluidity, familiarity, and body mechanics through shadowboxing.
Shadowboxing or solo training will help you to find fluidity in motion with respect to your body mechanics. It will familiarize you with your coordination and help you to incorporate many aspects of your developing tool applications.
To Enhance Shadow Boxing Try
- Listening to music or nature
- Change the lighting or close your eyes
- Use only one technique or add a different technique to each round
- Shadowbox each range alone or put them all together

Any piece equipment can be used to simulate an aspect of fighting, however it is your imagination that will bring it to life.
To develop certain aspects of conditioning; you must train your: cardio, endurance, speed, timing, strength, etc. against varying types of equipment.
Alternate Various types of Equipment Training
- Body bags, Double end bags, or Speed bags
- Soccer ball, Medicine ball, Football, Physo ball
- Free weights, Sledgehammers, Automobiles, Truck tires
- Drums, Sandbags, Beanbags, Sword, Stick work

To get close to the reality of fighting without risking injury from actual fighting you must free roll or spar with as many opponents as you can.
Real time reaction and feel can only be realized with the variation and live effect you receive from varying opponents.

- To mimic their motions
- To drill with
- To flow with
- To compete against
- • Who are superior in skill and force you to train up above your own level
- You can easily dominate
- You can teach

To fully realize your own potential, cycling of the 3 elements: Shadow Boxing, Equipment Training, and Partner Training are necessary for personal progression. Your instructors will better be able to guide and serve you if you have already done your homework.
